From Atlanta to Europe and Back

Born & Raised in Atlanta

Norris "Bo" Bell grew up in Atlanta, one of ten siblings. After breaking his leg playing football at age 12, he stood 6'6" by 15 and pivoted to basketball — a decision that would carry him around the world.

He earned a scholarship to Middle Georgia College, transferred to Gardner-Webb University, and kept grinding through the Atlanta police academy and a shot at the Atlanta Hawks' rookie camp. In 1986, scout Alain Gille recruited him to play in Europe — where he would spend the next 13 years, 9 of them in France and 4 in Switzerland, competing in 7 Euro Cups and becoming fluent in French.

He returned home and founded Bo Bell Basketball Academy with his co-founder Regina Bell. Over 20+ years of coaching, his athletes have earned 250+ Division 1 scholarship placements and 5 national championships.
